We have just finished a fantastic and very challenging garden lighting project for some very special clients in Oxford.
They have the most beautiful garden (I would suggest one of Oxfords best kept garden secrets!) with numerous summer houses, a lovely swimming pool, a mini cottage, a dining pod, a fun railway station, a rockery with pools, a canopied barbeque area, a gorgeous sweeping lawn, numerous seating areas and colourful flowers and roses in abundance! All set in over two acres – it really is a beautiful labour of love.

A quick way to add drama to a landscaped garden. Position intense and focused lights near the base of statues or trees or near a surfaced wall or trellis. This technique is very compelling but should be used sparingly.

When it comes to your front and back gardens, it’s important you also consider the security aspect of garden lighting.
Traditionally we have always used floodlights with a PIR fitted (passive infrared sensor) as they detect movement and flood the area with light when something activates it. However, although very effective, if they are not installed correctly and not enough thought goes in to what and where they are lighting, they can actually have a very detrimental effect on the neighbours, wildlife and also create light ...
Garden lighting is the perfect way to enjoy your outside space after dark, but how do you go about choosing the right lighting? We would always recommend LED garden lights as they are not only cost-effective to run, but last a long time and have a flexible application.
